Vazhai pazha somberi..

My cousin is getting married in August. I was telling my daughter that she has to get up early to see how exchange garlands and how they will sit on jula-jula (swing). It will be fun... Prompt came the reply "Foto dhan edupale.. Naan TV pakkaren.." What has technology done to these kids? They dont even want to enjoy such pleasures in life.. Or is it our mistake to introduce them to such things way too early in life that they realise importance of such events... hmm idhu enga poi mudiyumo...

Cutie Pie

Yesterday as soon as Baby N got up from her afternoon nap, I was just resting my head on her lap. Immediately she goes "Amma, oru kakkai irundhudha..." and narrated the full kakkai vadai kadhai. All the while her hand was gently patting my back. She was tyring to put me sleep. I found her act very cute. When I tried to move, she said "Amma wait pannu. Innum kadhai solren".... Such a cutie pie she is... Such moments are very few and far apart to quote my hubby..

Everything normal but still...

I have been having this wrist pain for almost an year now.. X-Ray report showed everything is normal. The doc prescribed painkiller and heat massage for 5 days. The heat massage was very painful. Painkillers didn't help. Then my sis said it cud be corporal tunnel. She suggested that I use my forearm to lift the kid. That worked and the pain reduced. My shoulders started paining. At least with the wrist pain I could sleep but with shoulder pain I couldn't get any sleep. Kazhuthu vali poi thirugu vali vandha kadhiya pochchu.. Back to doc, painkillers and x-Ray. Only improvement this time was that it was a digital x-ray. Same result. Everything normal. My wrist felt that I had not given done due honors to it and it is also paining now. What am I supposed to do? Any suggestions?

How about getting married 3 times a day and that too to the same person? My daughter wants to watch our marriage video almost everyday. I now remember the video pixel by pixel.

Recent Conversations of Baby N

I have been thinking of writing a post on the interesting/funny conversations we have these days (since march this year) with baby N. It is happening so often that i dont know what to write and what to leave

Scene1:
Everytime I go over to my mom's place she would give a list of things she would need to my father. Here is how it goes "Nattu (my father) watermelon, sapota,goyya, kadalai ellam venum"

Scene2:
I was reading newspaper the other day and suddenly she goes "amma ipod touch paththiya?" Me and hubby were shocked.. we didnt know that she could say ipod touch and that she will be able to identify ipod touch from paper...

Scene3:
She has this cute little caterpillar that hubby got from U.S. Using the wheels that it had she moved it up and down her stomach and said "Amma caterpillar nena mela walking poradhu"

Scene4:
She had mild itching on her bumps and started scratching it.. I asked her to turn over so I can take a closer look.. She says "kavalai padadha dryness illa"

Scene5:
My cousin got engaged recently. I went to my mom's place 2 days before the engagement. As soon she saw my mother she said "Patti, vairaththodu(diamond earring) pottu vidu, chain pottu vidu, patta patta vachchu vidu (patta patta means mehendi)....

Scene6:
There is this cot in my mom's place. She didn't let my dad sleep on it. When asked she said it is hers. My father told her that my sis got it for my mom.. Prompt came the reply "Sathya periamma enakku kuduthutta.."

Scene7:
Whenever I ask her if she is ok if with anything she says "Okie Dokie"

Scene8:
The other day after I bathed her. she went straight to sit on her cycle without wearing her dress. I told her" Wear your dress. If not cycle will sing "Puppy shame puppy shame.. All the monkeys know your name.." She didnt care and slowly replied "Amma cyclekku vaai irukka" ?#<*??

Scene9:
She picks the fone and holds conversation with someone known to her. In between the conversation she asks " Vera enna news?"

Scene10:
We were planning to get her some new dresses. She tells me "Amma cotton dress venum. Green colorla..."

Scene11:
Yesterday I asked hubby if he wanted some cash when we were getting ready to go out..
Hubby asked her what is cash and she says cashna kaasu..

Scene12:
We went to a hotel and when we finished eating finger bowls were brought. Hubby removed the lemon before Neha could wash her hand. She started laughing. When asked she said "Appa lemon keezha pottutaa". So she knows Lemon even if it is cut.. She has never seen cut lemon before... I have shown her only full lemon.

Scene13:
Hubby got a call from one of his collegues.Here's how the conversation went

Baby N: Amma yaaru pesaradhu
Me: Appa office uncle
Baby N: Uncle per enna?
Me: Suraj
Baby N: Uncle enna pannuva?
Me: Appa madhiri Laptopla velai pannuva
Baby N: Mouse vachchunda?
Me: Ammam. Keyboard enda kekkala?
Baby N: Amma laptopkku ennathukku keyboard?
Me: ???????

Scene14:
Heights of all conversation... Looks like I will become either entirely bald or all my hair is going become grey in 3 yrs time..

Baby N: Amma dog en bow wow wow panradhu
Me: Dog cat kellam pesa theriyadhu
Baby N: Bat, ball ellam
Me: Adhukellam vaai illa.. So sound pannadhu
Baby N: Appo fan, vijaya patti machine(sewing), washing machine ellam eppadi sound panradhu?
Me:Adhula motor irukku.. Motor suththum bodhu sound varum..
Baby N: appo tv??
Me:????? Didnt want to tell her that there is a sound box inside..

Scene15:
Baby N's bday is tomorrow. We ordered a chocolate cake yday. Today she picks the fone and talks to my father. "Nattu thatha chocolate cake dhan order panniyachchu. Plain cake vangindu vaa..."

Kids these days are so smart and twice as naughty and indisciplined..They understand so much but still refuse to accept that yelling at high pitches is not a good behaviour.... Still kids at heart.. At times I feel they are losing innocence quickly than we all did but is there a choice..
